We coordinated modernization efforts across multiple Gore departments, from the parts database team managing technical specifications to the sales team receiving and quoting requests. Each step required deep understanding of departmental workflows to help teams adapt their processes for the new system.
Natural design workflow
We rebuilt the cable design process to match how engineers actually work. Instead of requiring all decisions upfront and forcing connector selection first, our flexible system lets engineers start with either cable specifications or connector requirements. By spreading decisions across multiple steps, we significantly reduced specification loading times.
Interactive documentation system
We developed tools that transform complex cable specifications into clear, shareable information. Our interactive charts display cable performance under different conditions, replacing static diagrams with dynamic visualizations. Each custom cable design receives a unique URL, enabling easy sharing of exact specifications. The system automatically generates detailed technical documents with all measurements needed for installation in aircraft or spacecraft.
Outcomes
