xo, Fetti is an e-commerce company that offers well designed, quality, feminine party products, from temporary tattoos to decor for a bachelorette party. After their beginning in 2018, they now offer 550+ products across 2 brands to 3+ million customers.
xo outgrew the basic inventory management tools offered by e-commerce platforms including Shopify and Etsy, and they churned through SaaS platforms built for companies their size and larger.
No singular platform handled the entire inventory lifecycle—from product design, ordering, receiving, order fulfillment, customer service, to accounting— and combining SaaS products was not economical or efficient.

Build a custom, all-in-one platform to handle the entire lifecycle of xo’s inventory, shaped around their own internal processes for efficiency gains, all before their existing warehouse platform contract renewed in 6 months
Building a technical foundation
A Laravel-driven custom server application powers endless automated processes to pull in data from APIs and set up daily tasks for the warehouse team. The system looks across their entire data set of sales orders, product data, and inventory levels to provide rich reports to the business and generate tasks for managing everything internally, including inventory and purchasing.
All data is pulled from internally-generated APIs and packaged up into QuickBooks to keep track of expenses, income, and payment statuses to their own suppliers.

Keeping track of inventory
Keeping track of inventory across hundreds of products, multiple storefronts, and two warehouses. A slightly condensed typeface provides good readability but able to fit more text on screen to prevent too much scrolling.
Simplified tasks
A responsive front-end allows warehouse workers to complete their tasks on their phone, such as receiving a shipment, conducting a cycle count, transferring inventory. Custom triggers notify managers when they need to review. A task management interface lets managers review all work.





Search across all data
xo named this internal product “Story” to reflect their needs of seeing the story of their inventory. The search engine with a keyboard shortcut allows them to do search across 1M+ sales orders, all products, all POs, all shipments, and all tasks.

Advanced reports in seconds
We turned the entire custom data model into a reporting interface where xo team filters, sorts, and searches through all their data. The team pulls and schedules automated reports on inventory moved around the warehouse, shipments that have come in, and product details across all storefronts.
